EDT A growing number of Americans are finding their way to the diet zone diet.
For the first time, more Americans are following the zone diet than those who aren’t, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The zone diet is a diet that emphasizes low-fat, low-sugar, whole foods and avoids processed foods and sugars.
There are also rules to follow.
The USDA says most Americans should limit their intake of sugar, fats, and trans fats, the chief culprits of obesity and diabetes.
The new numbers show that more than half of the population is eating the zone Diet, and nearly one in three are following it.
For many, the diet has become a lifestyle choice.
“I think people are realizing that the Zone Diet really is something they can do and it really is a way to change their health,” said Dr. Stephen Wylie, director of the Division of Public Health Sciences at the University of Minnesota.
“The Zone Diet is a lot easier to follow than what is being advertised.”
It’s an alternative to the calorie-counting, fat-burning and sugar-laden menus of many traditional diets.
The Zone Diet isn’t without its critics.
Some argue that it doesn’t go far enough.
“It is an attempt to address the underlying causes of chronic disease and to prevent obesity,” said William Baer, a professor of pediatrics at New York University.
He said the diet’s goal of reducing obesity and improving health is laudable, but that it’s not enough.
Some health experts are urging people to try a more sustainable diet.
The American Dietetic Association says the Zone diet can be healthy, but it can be unhealthy.
It advises people to limit or eliminate sugar, fat and refined carbohydrates, as well as processed foods, and eat whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
The group also recommends limiting alcohol consumption and eating fruits, nuts, beans and whole grains.
The diet has also come under fire for being too easy.
The CDC says most people who follow the diet do so for a short time, and the data suggest the Zone diets effect is temporary.
There’s no definitive answer as to how long a Zone Diet lasts.
The agency estimates that if people follow it for 10 years or more, it could lead to health benefits of up to $4,000 per year.
The most recent CDC data shows that a third of the American population has joined the zone lifestyle.
That number is expected to grow by another 20 percent by 2020, according a statement from the CDC.
The average person who follows the Zone has been followed for nearly two decades.
The U.S. population is projected to grow from about 9.4 million in 2010 to 10.2 million by 2030, according the CDC, making it the largest single source of obesity in the world.
