Diet cokes ingredient links the ingredients of Diet Coke, but there’s a warning to be aware.
Read moreThe company says in a statement to News24 that its diet coki is safe to use as a food additive, but warns against using it in place of natural flavoured drinks.
“The diet cokie ingredients are safe to mix with other ingredients such as water, vinegar, herbs, spices and fruit, but if you mix these ingredients together, they will become too acidic and can lead to food poisoning, especially if used too often,” the company said.
“These ingredients are the reason why we ask that you not mix them together with other drinks, and for those who do, be aware that the acidity of the coke will damage the body’s protective barrier against the toxins in food and drink.”
The company also said it’s important to read the label carefully before using the coki.
“It is important to follow all directions on the bottle before mixing Diet Coke or Diet Coke + water, but not the label,” it said.
The company has said it has taken steps to reduce the acid content in its Diet Coke product and has tested it in two trials.
“We will be removing the diet cokee from the market over the coming months,” it says.ABC/wires
